A brand new trailer for Jordan Firstman’s queer drama Club Kid is here, and it’s all about the major spanners life can throw in the works.
In his directorial debut, the Rotting in the Sun star also wrote the film and leads as New York City club promoter Peter, whose life with his friends is an endless, drug-fuelled bacchanalian spree, making enough money to get by. When a 10-year-old (The Other Bennet Sister‘s Reggie Absolom) shows up telling him he’s his son, Peter’s life is changed overnight, as he faces parenthood in the haze of hedonism.
Cara Delevingne, Diego Calva, Miss Benny, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, and Colleen Camp also star, with Anora Oscar-winner Alex Coco producing with Lurker‘s Galen Core.
A24 won the bidding war for Club Kid, beating the likes of Focus Features, Netflix, Searchlight, and Mubi among others.
Club Kid, which premiered at Cannes in May to a seven-minute standing ovation, will be showing at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in September. Then, it hits cinemas Nov. 6.
